CLASSES FOR ADULTS

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative abilities of all participants by offering experiences in a variety of art media which provide opportunities for making connections with BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere.  Class size is limited to optimize learning.  Participants must pre-register to reserve a space as class size is limited.  Please dress for mess!

Artist Workshop: Photography

Work directly with artist Chris Adler in a workshop on photography and composition. Participants will explore different formal and conceptual approaches to creative photography stemming from the composition and sequencing of images. Please bring your own digital camera and SD card. No prior experience necessary.

EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN

BAM CAMPS for Children

Add excitement to your child’s Spring Break or summer with a fun-filled day or week of art experiences. Camp is limited to 25 students for individualized attention and safety. Students should dress for messy activities and wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. Bring a sack lunch, drink and water bottle each day. A Medical Information Card for each student will be mailed when the registration form is received. The student may attend only after the form has been completed, signed and returned to BAM. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day.

Park Explorers w/ Zoo Boise & The Basque Museum | June 17-21, 2019 | Ages 7 – 12

Ages: 7-12

Be an active explorer of artwork, animal wildlife, and culture! This camp highlights fun activities at cultural institutions in and around Julia Davis Park. Students will have a chance to learn more about each organization through hands-on activities and interactive experiences. Each day will be spent discovering a new topic with the Boise Art Museum, Zoo Boise, and the Basque Museum. Participants will begin and end each day at the Boise Art Museum. (BAM, Zoo Boise, and the Basque Museum members may receive the discounted member rate for this camp. Please indicate institution membership on registration form.)

Between sculpting art that shines and making the most out of mud, campers will explore the many materials artists use to create. Participants will spend each day discovering the possibilities of different artistic media, such as wood, clay, ink, glass, and more.

Take art and nature back to its basics! BAM’s exhibitions will inspire wildlife exploration and art making in this week-long camp. Students will experiment with natural materials, such as wood, paper, and clay, to create works of art based on animals, habitats, and the environment. Mornings will be spent at Zoo Boise and afternoons will be spent at the Boise Art Museum. (Members of Zoo Boise may receive the discounted member rate for this camp. Please indicate institution membership on registration form.)

 

BAM Half-Day Camps for Children

Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day. Offered for students ages 4-12. Within each class, students are grouped by age to provide individualized instruction and attention.

This unique “mini” camp is offered especially for younger students ready for their first BAM Art Camp! Camp participants will discover paintings, drawings, sculptures, and other artwork from BAM’s current exhibitions and explore new hands on art-making experiences each day.
