CLASSES FOR ADULTS

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative abilities of all participants by offering experiences in a variety of art media which provide opportunities for making connections with BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere.  Class size is limited to optimize learning.  Participants must pre-register to reserve a space as class size is limited.  Please dress for mess!

Studio Course: Printmaking

Explore printmaking inspired by the exhibition Outside the Lines. Work directly with printmaker and designer Caitlin Harris, who will lead participants through the relief printing process from the initial design to the final print. Participants will learn to create multiple color linoleum cuts, experiment with letterpress printing, and leave with a small edition of their work. No prior printmaking experience necessary. All levels welcome. Materials provided.

Explore painting inspired by Impressionism in the Northwest! This workshop will focus on using watercolors to create expressive works of art. Learn basic techniques from local watercolor artist, Anne Watson Sorensen. No prior painting or drawing experience necessary. All levels welcome. Materials provided.

EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN

BAM CAMPS for Children

Add excitement to your child’s Spring Break or summer with a fun-filled day or week of art experiences. Camp is limited to 25 students for individualized attention and safety. Students should dress for messy activities and wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. Bring a sack lunch, drink and water bottle each day. A Medical Information Card for each student will be mailed when the registration form is received. The student may attend only after the form has been completed, signed and returned to BAM. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day.

BAM Half-Day Camps for Children

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative ability of all participants by facilitating experiences in a variety of arts media and making connections with original works of art in BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day. Offered for students ages 4-12. Within each class, students are grouped by age to provide individualized instruction and attention.
