BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative abilities of all participants by offering experiences in a variety of art media which provide opportunities for making connections with BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere.  Class size is limited to optimize learning.  Participants must pre-register to reserve a space as class size is limited.  Please dress for mess!

Introduction to Painting–CLASS FULL

Learn to paint quickly and confidently! Explore painting with the Boise Art Museum by learning from the Museum’s collection. This course will focus on using colors and water-based media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and ink) to create dynamic and realistic artwork. Basic techniques will be introduced and students will be encouraged to experiment with a combination of materials. No prior painting or drawing experience is necessary. All levels are welcome. Community Printmaking Workshop

Saturday, December 2, 2017 Time: Noon – 4:00 p.m. (drop-in) Cost: $10 for 6 prints Instructors: BAM Education Department Explore the art of printmaking at the Boise Art Museum! This drop-in workshop will provide step-by-step instructions for participants to make their own prints. Great for holiday gifts! Garner inspiration simple shapes and patterns in the exhibition Bricks and Stones. Allow one hour per print edition.
