Pre-Scheduled Self-Guided College Tours

ARRIVING AT THE MUSEUM
— Check in at the admission desk to pay admission and report the total number of students and adults in your group. For safety and security, BAM allows a maximum of 30 students in the Museum.
— Food, drink and gum are NOT permitted in the galleries. Students may dispose of these items in the outside trash can before entering the Museum.
— Bags, cameras, cell phone cameras, backpacks and umbrellas are NOT permitted in the galleries. These items should be left behind or will have to be checked in at the admission desk.
— Cell phone use including taking photographs is NOT permitted in the Museum. Please turn phones off or place in buzz mode.

IN THE MUSEUM
NO TOUCHING: The Museum must protect and preserve art for the future. The oils that keep your hands smooth and soft can damage an artwork, even if you think you’re touching carefully. Leaning on cases and walls is not permitted.
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE: A distance of at least twelve inches between students and a piece of art is required. Leaning on cases and walls is not permitted.
NOISE LEVEL: We don’t expect the students to be silent. We do expect them to be respectful of others in the galleries and use appropriate “indoor” voices.
SEATING: Sitting on the gallery floors for group discussions allows all group members to see the artwork and to participate in the conversations. Lying on the floor is not allowed as it causes difficulty for other visitors in the galleries.
DISCIPLINE: Discipline is everyone’s responsibility. We expect you to help your group members understand their responsibility for their own behavior.
WRITING AND DRAWING: Pens are NOT allowed in the Museum. If your students are taking notes or sketching with pencils during their visit, please make sure they have something to write on such as sketch pads, notebooks or clipboards. Leaning on cases and walls is not permitted.
ASSIGNMENTS: If you have been given a class assignment, please do not ask Museum employees to assist you in completing it. Photographs are not permitted including with cell phones.
OTHER TOUR GROUPS: There may be other self-guided tours running concurrently with yours. Please be respectful of other groups who have also pre-scheduled their tours.

Please keep your group together and under control. If your group or members of your group behave inappropriately or negatively impact other visitors, your group will be asked to leave.
