BAM seeks an energetic, detail oriented individual to join our team as a Janitor for approximately 10 hours per week. Primary duties are to clean, sanitize, and maintain designated spaces within the Boise Art Museum both inside and outside of the building with careful attention to the safety of the artwork, staff and visitors.  Tasks will include, but are not limited to: Sweeping and mopping floors; vacuuming carpets; emptying trash cans and recycle bins. Cleaning and disinfecting public restrooms; replenishing all supplies. Sanitizing high touch handles and railings; and removing fingerprints from woodwork and walls, doors and window frames.

High school diploma or GED required. One year of janitorial experience or willingness to be trained using BAM procedures. Willing to work an 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. morning shift, potentially up to 6 days per week. Once trained, able to work with minimal supervision. Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in art, art history, or related field.  5-7 years of program management experience, including curatorial/education experience, strategic planning, and supervisory experience at an established art museum.  Knowledge of project management methodologies, processes and tools. Competency with desktop computer, presentation software, spreadsheet software.  Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.  Ability to perform each project task seamlessly, often switching between high-level strategy and helping with supporting tasks as needed to promote team success.  Attention to detail and a high level of efficiency, strategic thinking and common sense problem solving.  Ability to understand and manage high-profile, sensitive or controversial situations. At least five (5) years of personnel management experience.
