Boise Art Museum seeks a Curator of Art to schedule, organize, design, manage, and install the Museum’s art exhibitions in fulfillment of the Museum’s mission. The Curator of Art is responsible for enhancing the educational role of the institution through interpretation of original works of art including the Museum’s Permanent Collection, with labels, catalogues, and other materials. 3-5 years of curatorial experience, including project management, at an established museum. Competency with desktop computer, presentation software, spreadsheet software. Effective presentation skills. Ability to discuss complex art, fundraising, and marketing issues at all levels of the organization and public. At least two (2) years of personnel management experience.
Master’s degree in art or art history, or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate should excel at working in a fast-paced and dynamic organization, and must have flexible availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Boise Art Museum’s Visitor Services Associates support the mission and safety of the Museum by sharing knowledge about exhibitions and keeping artwork and people safe. Visitor Services Associates help provide positive experiences for visitors of all ages, assist in event set-up and take-down, and staff exhibition openings.
We are currently seeking a Visitor Services Associate who can work up to 20 hours per week, with an average of 12-16 per week. This position requires working weekends, and some week nights during special events or on First Thursday.
