Boise Art Museum seeks a Curator of Art to schedule, organize, design, manage, and install the Museum’s art exhibitions in fulfillment of the Museum’s mission.  The Curator of Art is responsible for enhancing the educational role of the institution through interpretation of original works of art including the Museum’s Permanent Collection, with labels, catalogues, and other materials.  Send cover letter, resume, 3 professional references, and writing sample to mackenzie@boiseartmuseum.org.

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years of curatorial experience, including project management, at an established museum.  Competency with desktop computer, presentation software, spreadsheet software.  Effective presentation skills.  Ability to discuss complex art, fundraising, and marketing issues at all levels of the organization and public.  At least two (2) years of personnel management experience.

Master’s degree in art or art history, or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate should excel at working in a fast-paced and dynamic organization, and must have flexible availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
