Boise Art Museum seeks a Curator of Art to serve as a thought partner and change agent through scheduling, organizing, designing, managing, and installing the Museum’s art exhibitions in fulfillment of the Museum’s mission. The Curator of Art enhances the educational role of the institution through interpretation of original works of art including the Museum’s Permanent Collection, with labels, catalogues, and other materials. Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of curatorial experience, including project management, at an established museum. Competency with desktop computer, presentation software, spreadsheet software. Effective presentation skills. Ability to discuss complex art, fundraising, and marketing issues at all levels of the organization and public. At least two (2) years of personnel management experience.

Master’s degree in art history, or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate should excel at working in a fast-paced and dynamic organization, and must have flexible availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Boise Art Museum seeks a Financial Manager to maximize the return on financial assets by adhering to Museum financial policies and established procedures, controls and reporting systems; ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all non-profit accounting and financial reporting functions. The BAM Financial Manager oversees and conducts cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/accounts payable, employee payroll and benefits, budget, and risk management. Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of administrative experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards, particularly in terms of nonprofit accounting and reporting functions.
  • Two years of benefits administration experience. Knowledge of HIPAA and ACA regulations.
  • One year of payroll administration experience. Experience with ADP Payroll desired.
  • Demonstrated competency with desktop computer, presentation software, spreadsheet software.
  • Effective presentation skills.  Ability to discuss complex financial issues at all levels of the organization and public.
  • At least two (2) years of personnel management experience.
    Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or Business Administration; with three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Boise Art Museum seeks a Registrar with a thorough understanding of collections principles and practices, collections management issues and trends, and the care and conservation of collections. The BAM Registrar maintains the Museum’s art collections and exhibitions including collections database management, reports, loan agreements, gifts and acquisitions, packing and shipping arrangements, and insurance. Boise Art Museum’s Visitor Services Associates support the mission and safety of the Museum by providing wayfinding information about exhibitions and the Museum and keeping artwork and people safe. Visitor Services Associates help provide positive experiences for visitors of all ages, assist in event set-up and take-down, and staff exhibition openings.

We are currently seeking a Visitor Services Associate who can work up to 20 hours per week, with an average of 12-16 per week. This position requires working weekends, and some week nights during special events or on First Thursday.

Vaccination Status

Boise Art Museum has a duty to provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards and to do our part in safeguarding the health of our co-workers and their families as well as the community at large.  As a condition of employment, we require all Boise Art Museum employees and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their start date. According to the CDC, fully vaccinated by the start date of employment means it has been two weeks since a person received the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. Our desire is to continue to fulfill our educational mission for the community, and our first priority is to create a safe workplace.
