CLASSES FOR ADULTS

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative abilities of all participants by offering experiences in a variety of art media which provide opportunities for making connections with BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere.  Class size is limited to optimize learning.  Participants must pre-register to reserve a space as class size is limited.  Please dress for mess!

Workshop: Ceramics

Work directly with a local artist who will lead participants through an introduction to ceramic processes. Participants will learn to both throw on a potter's wheel and hand build. Projects will be fired after the class. No prior experience is necessary.     Register Now»

Learn to sketch and create your own prints with the Boise Art Museum! Inspired by Boise Art Museum's current exhibitions, students turn basic drawing techniques into polished prints. Beginners are welcome. This two-part class begins with an introduction to drawing and continues with an exploration of printmaking techniques. BAM Half-Day Camps for Children

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative ability of all participants by facilitating experiences in a variety of arts media and making connections with original works of art in BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day.
Offered for students ages 4-12
Within each class, students are grouped by age to provide individualized instruction and attention.

The Building Blocks of Art |August 14 – 18, 2017 | Ages 4-12

August 14 - 18, 2017
Explore the artistic possibilities of simple squares and basic blocks using Sean Kenney’s artwork made from LEGO® bricks as inspiration.  Ages 4-12 (students are grouped by age to provide individualized instruction and attention.) Indicate morning or afternoon session when registering.

BAM Full-Day Camps for Children

Add excitement to your child’s Spring Break or summer with a fun-filled week of art experiences. Camp is limited to 20 students for individualized attention and safety. Students should dress for messy activities and wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. Bring a sack lunch, drink and water bottle each day. A Medical Information Card for each student will be mailed when the registration form is received. The student may attend only after the form has been completed, signed and returned to BAM. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day.

Sculpting Environments w/ Zoo Boise | August 7-11, 2017 | Ages 7 – 12

Explore sculptures, architecture, and habitats with the Boise Art Museum and Zoo Boise! BAM’s exhibition featuring artwork made from LEGO® bricks will guide environmental exploration and art making in this week-long camp. Students will learn about sculptures inspired by the natural world and animal habitats made by humans. Mornings will be spent at Zoo Boise and afternoons will be spent at the Boise Art Museum. (Members of Zoo Boise may receive the discount member rate for this camp. Please indicate Zoo Boise membership on registration form.)
