CLASSES FOR ADULTS

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative abilities of all participants by offering experiences in a variety of art media which provide opportunities for making connections with BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere.  Class size is limited to optimize learning.  Participants must pre-register to reserve a space as class size is limited.  Please dress for mess!

Watercolor Open Studio Session I


  Tuesdays, February 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2017

$45 ($60 non-members) Pre-registration deadline: Wednesday, January 27, 2017
Explore watercolor painting with the Boise Art Museum. BAM’s open studio format combines basic techniques for beginners, refreshers for dabbling artists and helpful hints and tips for seasoned painters.  No prior drawing or painting experience is necessary. Basic materials provided for use in class. Course combines demonstrations, discussions and individualized instruction. All levels are welcome. Register Now»

Work with choreographer, dancer, and geneticist Page Wooller and explore site-specific movement. Inspired by the artwork of Geraldine Ondrizek and BAM’s Sculpture Court, this workshop gives participants the opportunity to experience the process of creating movement and developing choreography from initial concepts to final work. Participants should bring snacks and water bottles. BAM CLASSES for Children

BAM’s studio art program encourages the creative ability of all participants by facilitating experiences in a variety of arts media and making connections with original works of art in BAM’s exhibitions. Through reputable artists and educators, we provide quality instruction for all ages in a small-class, non-competitive and enjoyable atmosphere. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day.
Offered for students ages 4-12
Within each class, students are grouped by age to provide individualized instruction and attention.

BAM CAMPS for Children

Add excitement to your child’s Spring Break or summer with a fun-filled week of art experiences. Camp is limited to 20 students for individualized attention and safety. Students should dress for messy activities and wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather. Bring a sack lunch, drink and water bottle each day. A Medical Information Card for each student will be mailed when the registration form is received. The student may attend only after the form has been completed, signed and returned to BAM. Children are required to be checked in and out of classes and camps at BAM by a parent or guardian each day.

Spring Break Camp: Media Madness


Spring Break Camp: Media Madness March 27 – March 31, 2017 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Ages: 7-12 $150 ($180 non-members) Pre-registration deadline:  Friday, March 24, 2017 In this week-long camp, students will explore a variety of media—from painting and sculpture to textile and fiber art. Students will visit exhibitions like Geraldine Ondrizek: Chromosome Painting, 2017 Idaho Triennial, and Tall Tales for inspiration. Register Now»
